Comment on ``Magnon wave forms in the presence of a soliton in two--dimensional antiferromagnets with a staggered field''

Very recently Fonseca and Pires [Phys. Rev. B 73, 012403(2006)] have studied the soliton--magnon scattering for the isotropic antiferromagnet and calculated ``exact'' phase shifts, which were compared with the ones obtained by the Born approximation. In this Comment we correct both the soliton and magnon solutions and point out the way how to study correctly the scattering problem.Comment: 2 pages (RevTeX

Dynamics of topological solitons in two-dimensional ferromagnets

Dynamical topological solitons are studied in classical two-dimensional Heisenberg easy-axis ferromagnets. The properties of such solitons are treated both analytically in the continuum limit and numerically by spin dynamics simulations of the discrete system. Excitation of internal mode causes orbital motion. This is confirmed by simulations.Comment: LaTeX, 15 pages, 6 figure

Controllable switching of vortex chirality in magnetic nanodisks by a field pulse

We propose a way of fast switching the chirality in a magnetic nanodisk by applying a field pulse. To break the symmetry with respect to clockwise or counterclockwise chirality a mask is added by which an inhomogeneous field influences the vortex state of a nanodisk. Using numerical spin--lattice simulations we demonstrate that chirality can be controllably switched by a field pulse, whose intensity is above some critical value. A mathematical definition for the chirality of an arbitrary shaped particle is proposed.Comment: REVTeX, 4 pages, 3 figure

Switching of the vortex polarity in a magnetic nanodisk by a DC current

We study the dynamics of a vortex state nanodisk due to a dc spin current, perpendicular to the disk plane. The irreversible switching of the vortex polarity takes place above some threshold current. The detailed description of these processes is obtained by spin-lattice simulations.Comment: REVTeX, 4 pages, 3 figure
